David and Sandra Askew put their J/122 on a trailer last month and trucked it out to the Midwest to compete in a series of sailing regattas. The Annapolis couple is going to need to rent a second trailer to haul home all the trophies they won.
Newark visitors fete Lake Hopatcong Monday
MOUNT ARLINGTON Twenty kids from the Newark Boys and Girls Club, ages 9 to 13, visited Lake Hopatcong on Monday, July 19, for a day of swimming, sailing, motor boating, and generally enjoying the lake.
Sailing a Paradigm Shift 333 miles to Mackinac
Dave Dickerson named his first sailboat Gusto, a combination of wordplay on a type of wind and a saying from a popular beer commercial from the 1970s. "The beer commercial kept talking about going for the gusto," the Hinsdale resident said. Since then, the 59-year-old has amassed 36 years of sailing experience.

Local athlete takes home the gold
Jaden Easton-Ellett did this little community proud. As the only participant from Cloverdale competing in the BC Summer Games this past weekend, Easton-Ellett helped bring home four gold medals.
